Being a diplomacy student, the small class sizes and emphasis on a discussion based course structure helped me get to know my fellow class mates and professors. During my time at Seton Hall, I have been able to grow as a student and as a person. The biomedical engineering bachelor's degree at Stevens includes the general engineering courses taken by other engineering disciplines, including eight semesters of design. Our laboratories include hands-on experience in taking and analyzing data at all levels of biology and physiology. As such, the Stevens BME program includes courses in bio-transport phenomena, biomaterials, and biomechanics, as well as electronics, digital signals processing, medical imaging, and mathematical modeling of physiological processes. Favorite classes were from the Western Philosophy department (ranked #2 in the world - once #1). And, similar to NYC, no one cares about you here. I interned at a Fortune 500 one year hopped on the train to the city in the mornings and came back to my classes in the evening.
Huge alumni base, brand recognition, and many career opportunities nearby (it's between two major urban areas). Ethnoburb Edison nearby has amazing food and is nearby. There's energy in the NB part of campus however, if you want to get out of town, NYC is only a train ride away (the train station is on campus). There's something for everyone here and you can make the huge school feel small.
